#KEEPCALM

We control technology. Technology is here to serve us. Indeed, we tell our computers, laptops and smartphones what to do, when to do it and how to do it.. or do we? A little « bug » is enough to make us lose our mind, just as a bee could ruin a picnic.

This little infantile rainbow beach ball became one of the worst nightmares of all Macintosh users. Once it starts spinning anything can happens. We start distressing, maybe yelling, and eventually hitting. This little Beach Ball of Death makes us go back directly to our primary instinct and origins. Suddenly we become technology’s servant, and even start praying for the sake of what was our tool. Useless, lost, and panicking we wait in order to see if our new master will lay us up or let us down.

The #KEEPCALM installation aspires to make the audience feel the same way, in order to make them think about what is now a subconscious fear, and how easily this beautiful symbol can create a discomfort.
